Diljit Dosanjh Gets 2025 International Emmy Nod

Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has earned a Best Actor nomination at the 2025 International Emmys for his role in Chamkila. He plays Amar Singh Chamkila, a famous Punjabi singer and poet known for his bold songs. Chamkila and his group tragically died in 1988.

This year, Chamkila is India’s only submission to the International Emmys. Produced by Window Seat Films, the show premiered on Netflix last year. The 53rd International Emmy Awards will be held on November 24 in New York City, where winners will be announced.

Dosanjh will compete with:

Diego Vasquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude, Colombia)
Oriol Pla (Yo, adicto, Spain)
David Mitchell (Ludwig, UK)

Apart from Chamkila, Dosanjh is also known for his Bollywood work and Punjabi songs. His recent movie Sardaar Ji 3 faced controversy due to release issues in India, but it released abroad successfully.
