Baadshah Actor Pankaj Dheer Passes Away At 68

Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, best known for playing Karna in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, passed away on October 15, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He was 68. The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) confirmed the news and expressed deep sorrow over his passing. His last rites were held in Mumbai.

Pankaj Dheer, who would have turned 69 next month, had been under treatment for several months and was surrounded by his family during his final moments. His powerful performance as Karna made him one of the most respected actors in Indian television history.

Apart from Mahabharat, he acted in many hit films like Baadshah, Soldier, and Sadak, and TV shows such as Chandrakanta and Badho Bahu. He also founded an acting school called Abbhinnay and ran his own production house, Visage Studioz, helping young artists grow.

He is survived by his wife Pammi Dheer, son Nikitin Dheer, and daughter-in-law Kratika Sengar, who are also part of the entertainment industry. Fans and co-stars have been sharing emotional tributes, calling him “a true gentleman” and “the best Karna ever.”

Pankaj Dheer’s passing marks the end of an era in Indian television. His legacy as an actor and mentor will always be remembered with love and respect.
