Maharani S4: Huma Qureshi Shines, Twists Fall Short
The political drama Maharani has been entertaining audiences for three seasons with its smart storytelling and powerful performances. The show, inspired by real political events in Bihar, made politics easy to understand and fun to watch. Season 4 continues that streak but also shows signs of fatigue and repetition.
Huma Qureshi returns as Rani Bharti, now older and more experienced. After stepping down as Chief Minister due to a scandal, she makes her daughter (played by Shweta Basu Prasad) the new CM. This decision sparks accusations of nepotism and creates tension within the party and her family. Rani’s biggest challenge, however, is the Prime Minister (Vipin Sharma), who tries to control her. The season mainly focuses on the power clash between these two strong characters.
Even though some freshness is missing, Maharani 4 remains watchable. The political drama, now shifting its focus from Patna to Delhi, brings in national politics and keeps viewers interested. What’s lacking are the unpredictable twists and sharp writing that earlier seasons had. Instead, this season leans more on heavy dialogue and dramatic moments than real surprises.
Huma Qureshi once again shines and carries the show with her strong performance. While Maharani 4 may not be as tight or surprising as before, it still delivers solid entertainment and a glimpse into India’s power games.
