Malaika Arora Faced Family Backlash After Divorce

Actor Malaika Arora has spoken honestly about the difficult time she faced during her divorce from Arbaaz Khan. In a recent interview with India Today, Malaika revealed that she faced judgement and criticism not only from the public but also from her friends and family.

Malaika and Arbaaz were married from 1998 to 2017. Talking about the separation, Malaika said people questioned her decision and often asked why she chose her own happiness first. Despite the backlash, she said she has no regrets and is proud of standing by her choice.

She shared that although she didn’t know what the future would bring, she knew she needed to take that step for her mental peace and well-being. Malaika added that being alone was better than staying unhappy, even if people around her didn’t understand her decision.

The actor also clarified that her divorce has not changed her belief in love or marriage. She said she still believes in love and relationships but is not actively looking to get married again. Malaika shared that if love comes naturally into her life, she would welcome it, but she is currently happy and content.

On the personal front, Malaika and Arbaaz share a son, Arhaan Khan, who is 23 years old. Arbaaz has recently married stylist Shura Khan, while Malaika has not remarried. She was in a well-known relationship with actor Arjun Kapoor from 2016 to 2024.
