Squid Game 3: Lee Jung-jae ‘Nervous’ About Fan Reactions

The final season of Squid Game is almost here, and actor Lee Jung-jae, who plays Seong Gi-hun, says he’s feeling nervous about how fans will react. Netflix shared the trailer for the final season at its Tudum event, confirming the release date as June 27.

In this season, the story follows Gi-hun as he returns to the deadly games after his failed attempt to stop them in Season 2.

Speaking at the Tudum event, Lee told The Hollywood Reporter,

“We are going to be releasing it quite soon, and I’m very nervous. I know a lot of you are curious about what’s going to happen in Season 3, but we’re more curious about how much you’ll enjoy it.”

Lee Jung-jae, who won an Emmy for his role, has led the show to worldwide fame. Squid Game became one of the most-watched shows in recent years, topping many streaming charts.

Another main actor, Lee Byung-hun, who plays the mysterious Front Man, also talked about the new season. He said he read the scripts for Seasons 2 and 3 together and thought they were “perfectly written.”

“It was such an intriguing and gripping read. I was once again in awe of director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s talent,” he added.

When asked how he feels about the ending, Lee Jung-jae said,

“I’m happy with how it ended, but fans each have their own idea of what they want to see. So I’m really curious—and nervous—about how they’ll react.”
