The third and final season of Squid Game was released on Netflix on June 27. Within just three days, the show became the number one series in 93 countries, breaking a big record for Netflix.

According to Netflix’s Tudum website, Season 3 was watched over 60.1 million times in its first three days—more than any other Netflix show in the same time frame. Thanks to the huge success of both Season 2 and 3, Squid Game is now the only show ever to enter Netflix’s Most Popular List in its first week.

What Happens in Season 3?

Season 3 continues the story from the shocking ending of Season 2. The main character, Gi-hun, isn’t done yet. He must now make some tough decisions for himself and for the remaining players as the games get even more dangerous.

Massive Promotions and Global Buzz

Ahead of the release, Netflix hosted big global events to promote the series. One major event took place in Seoul, South Korea, where over 38,000 fans joined a parade inspired by the show, complete with the pink guards and themed activities.
