Saiyaara Advance Booking Breaks Records, Beats Big Stars
Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara hits theatres today (July 18). The film stars two newcomers – Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda – but has already created huge buzz even before its release.
Despite having debut actors, the film’s advance bookings are massive. According to reports, Saiyaara collected ₹9.39 crore in advance bookings alone, selling around 3.8 lakh tickets before day one. That’s more than what films like Dhadak and Student of the Year earned on their full opening days!
Saiyaara Beats Big Stars
Saiyaara is not just competing with debutant films anymore. It has left behind several big-budget movies of superstars.
- Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force: ₹3.78 crore
- Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2: ₹6.52 crore
- Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par: ₹3.32 crore
- Salman Khan’s Sikandar was slightly ahead with ₹10 crore, but Saiyaara sold more tickets (3.8 lakh vs. 3.3 lakh) and performed better in multiplexes.
What’s Next?
With such a strong start, Saiyaara is expected to earn over ₹20 crore on its first day. If word of mouth is good, it might even cross ₹25 crore, becoming one of the biggest openers of the year, just behind Chhaava, Sikandar, and Housefull 5.
