Son Of Sardaar 2 Review: A Fun But Unnecessary Sequel

Ajay Devgn returns as Jassi in Son of Sardaar 2, and while the sequel wasn’t really asked for, it surprisingly delivers lighthearted fun. The biggest shocker? Ajay, now 56, looks like he’s in his 30s! Hats off to the makeup team (and probably a bit of digital magic).
Story Summary
Jassi (Ajay Devgn) travels to London to meet his wife (Neeru Bajwa), only to find out she wants a divorce. Heartbroken and homeless, he meets Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), who’s part of a girls’ wedding band. Rabia’s sister Saba is in love with a man whose father, Raja (Ravi Kishan), is obsessed with “top breed” families. When he demands to meet Saba’s parents, Jassi and Rabia pretend to be them — and chaos begins!
What Works
The movie doesn’t try to be clever — and that’s what works. It knows it’s silly and fully embraces it. The first half starts slow but gets funnier as new characters join in. The writing is light, the screenplay simple, and the jokes land well in the first half.
What Doesn’t
The second half loses steam with some unnecessary and silly scenes — including one involving drugs — but it picks up again by the climax. There’s no link to the first Son of Sardaar, so you can watch this even if you didn’t see the original.
Final Verdict
It’s goofy, harmless entertainment. If you want something stress-free and funny, Son of Sardaar 2 does the job.
