Vivek Agnihotri Hits Back At John Abraham

Bollywood actor John Abraham recently said he will never do films that try to influence people politically. While giving examples, he mentioned The Kashmir Files and Chhaava. His remark didn’t go well with filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who has now responded strongly.
What Vivek Agnihotri Said
In an interview with NDTV, Vivek Agnihotri slammed John Abraham’s comment. He said:
- “John is not a historian, intellectual, thinker, or writer. He has made very jingoistic films like Satyameva Jayate and Diplomat. If a historian had said this, I would understand. But I don’t care about what John is saying.”
Vivek also added:
- “When was India not political? Issues of Hindu-Muslim and caste have always existed. John is known for riding bikes, showing his body, and eating protein. He should focus on those things instead of talking about films.”
What John Abraham Said
In an interview with India Today, John clarified that he avoids films made to influence audiences politically. He said:
- “I know people loved Chhaava and The Kashmir Files, but when films are made with the intent to sway people in a hyper-political environment, that is scary. I have never been tempted to do such films, and I never will.”
About The Kashmir Files
Released in 2022, The Kashmir Files focused on the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Hindus. Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi, the film became a huge success, earning ₹341 crore worldwide.
