K-Pop Demon Hunters Sequel Coming After Netflix Hit

The animated movie KPop Demon Hunters, created by director Maggie Kang, has become Netflix’s most-watched English-language film ever, with 236 million views, beating Red Notice.

Sequel Plans:
Netflix and Sony are in early talks for a sequel. Director Maggie Kang said there’s a lot of backstory and unanswered questions that couldn’t fit in the 85-minute original film. She’s excited to continue the story.

About the Film:
KPop Demon Hunters follows Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), members of the K-pop group Huntr/x who secretly fight demons. Their biggest rival, played by Lee Byung-hun, creates a boy band to steal fans’ souls. The trio must save their fans and their friendship.

A sing-along version of the film was released in U.S. theaters on August 23–24, opening at No. 1 at the box office.
