“Gen V’s Hamish: Trump 2.0 Hard To Beat”

The second season of The Boys spinoff Gen V is coming soon to Amazon Prime Video on September 17. Actor Hamish Linklater joins the cast as Cipher, the new dean of Godolkin University, where young superheroes are trained.

About his character, Hamish says, “Homelander would want to hire me. That should tell you what a good guy I am,” highlighting Cipher’s flexible morals in a world ruled by superheroes like Homelander.

Since the first season in 2023, real-world events in the U.S. have become wilder, especially with Donald Trump back in office. Hamish admits, “The writers are having a hard time trying to outdo the real world crazy. But Eric Kripke didn’t flinch—he faced it head-on. I’m proud to be part of a show with that kind of courage.”

Fans of Gen V can expect the same irreverent, gory humor as before. Hamish teases, “More butt stuff!” Season 2 also stars Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, and Asa Germann, with cameos from The Boys cast.
