The trailer for Season 4 of Godfather of Harlem is finally here! The MGM+ original series brings back Forest Whitaker as the legendary gangster Bumpy Johnson. But this time, there’s a new face making waves—Frank Lucas, played by Rome Flynn.
In the trailer, Bumpy calls Frank “a country boy looking to make a name for himself”, and it’s clear that he’s ready to stir up trouble in New York City.

Season 4 will follow Bumpy Johnson’s battle for control of Harlem against the New York Mafia. But this time, he also has to deal with the arrival of gangster Frank Lucas.
Meanwhile, after Malcolm X’s assassination, Bumpy struggles with his daughter Elise’s involvement with the Black Panthers.
The cast includes Ilfenesh Hadera, Lucy Fry, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Erik LaRay Harvey, Michael Raymond James, Elvis Nolasco, and Erik Palladino.
Speaking to Deadline, Rome Flynn shared how playing Frank Lucas has been a life-changing role. He said,
🗣️ “This role has been transformative for me, more than anything I’ve ever done. People will either be shocked or amazed—good or bad, I don’t know!”
📅 Season 4 premieres on April 13 on MGM+. The first three seasons are already available for streaming.
The series is produced by 20th Television with executive producers Chris Brancato, Paul Eckstein, Forest Whitaker, Nina Yang Bongiovi, James Acheson, Markuann Smith, Ray Quinlan, Michael Panes, and Stephen Schiff. The music is led by Swizz Beatz as executive music producer.
