Akshay Kumar’s Niece Simar Bhatia To Debut In Ikkis

As the film Ikkis gets ready for release, Akshay Kumar is feeling very proud. A new song from the movie, “Sitare” sung by Arijit Singh, was released recently. The film’s promotion has also started, with videos of the actors talking about their roles going viral on social media. The movie stars Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia, who is making her debut. People are already praising the film for its emotional story and strong performances.

Akshay Kumar welcomes Simar to Bollywood

Simar Bhatia is Akshay Kumar’s niece and the daughter of his sister, Alka Bhatia. As she steps into Bollywood, Akshay shared a heartfelt message for her on Instagram.

He wrote, “From holding you as a baby to seeing you act in your first film… life feels complete. You were a shy girl who hid behind your mom, and now you are a confident actress ready to face the camera.”

He encouraged her with family values:
“Safar mushkil hai, but I know you’ll face it with honesty, hard work, and determination — just like our family teaches. Hum Bhatias believe in working from the heart and trusting the universe.”

Akshay ended his message with love and pride:
“I’m so proud of you… The world will now meet Simar Bhatia, but for me, you were always a star. Go shine!”

A powerful story

Directed by National Award–winning Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis tells the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Agastya Nanda plays the brave 21-year-old soldier who fought in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The trailer shows his training, courage, and heroic sacrifice.

The film also features Dharmendra in his final screen role as Arun’s father, adding emotional depth. Ikkis will release in theatres on December 25.

Akshay is Simar’s biggest supporter

After the trailer launch, Akshay posted another emotional message, saying, “My little Simi is all grown up… from home performances to the big screen in Ikkis, I’m so proud! And Agastya, amazing presence!”

Amitabh Bachchan, Navya Nanda, and Suhana Khan also congratulated the young actors, showing strong industry support.

Catch Ikkis in cinemas on December 25.
