Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha says the film industry is now more focused on the business side of movies than on the films themselves.
Speaking during his visit to Lucknow, Sinha said, “People only talk about budgets and box office numbers, but many of these figures aren’t true. The audience shouldn’t worry about this. What matters is whether they liked the movie or not. Just like we don’t ask a biscuit company about its profit before eating their biscuits!”
He added, “Even if some say a movie is bad, the people who watch it may enjoy it. The industry talks too much about failures. As humans, we enjoy discussing mistakes and failures.”
Sinha also shared the challenges he has faced in his career. He said, “After my movie Ra.One didn’t do well, I had a tough three or four years with no work. But today, people call it a cult film. The film industry can be very difficult.”
Recently, Sinha completed a courtroom drama featuring actor Taapsee Pannu.
