Ila Arun, known for her iconic songs like Choli Ke Peeche and Ghagra, may not have lent her voice to a Bollywood track in 12 years, but her music continues to resonate. Despite her protests about the recreation of her songs without permission, Ila has made peace with it. She even thanked Diljit Dosanjh for his rendition of Choli Ke Peeche, which brought her a lot of royalties. She now hopes he picks up more of her tracks!
Ila also shared her thoughts on the industry’s commercial side and her daughter Ishitta Arun’s belief that she deserved more complex singing roles. While she understands her daughter’s viewpoint, Ila is proud of her journey in the industry and her work in theatre.
