Is Alia Bhatt skipping Cannes because Of India-Pakistan tensions?

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt was expected to make her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year as a brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. She was supposed to walk the red carpet on May 13, the opening night of the prestigious event. However, due to the recent tension between India and Pakistan, she decided to delay her plans.

As per reports, Alia chose not to travel at this time to show support and solidarity with her country. A source shared that she was ready to fly over the weekend but changed her mind because of the sensitive geopolitical situation.

Cannes 2025 runs from May 13 to May 24, and there is still hope she may attend. Sources say Alia is still thinking about joining the festival later, depending on how things go and her schedule in India.

Alia also shared an emotional post on social media addressing the situation between India and Pakistan, showing her concern for peace and unity.

If she does attend later, she will be seen alongside Aishwarya Rai, another L’Oréal ambassador.
