Actor Ishaan Khatter, son of Neelima Azeem and Rajesh Khattar, has worked hard to reach where he is today. Even though he comes from a film family, his childhood was far from glamorous. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Ishaan revealed that he grew up in rented houses and had to move a lot. By the time he turned 16, he had already lived in 17 different homes.
Ishaan shared that he studied in Juhu – first at Jamnabai Narsee School for 10 years, and then at Billabong High. He found it tough to adjust to a new school and new friends. His family didn’t have a permanent home and lived what he calls the “Bombay struggling lifestyle.” He even admitted, “I failed in school.”
After facing challenges, Ishaan found peace in dancing and slowly started building his career. He told his mom that after leaving Jamnabai, his studies got affected.
Ishaan was last seen in Netflix’s show The Royals, where he starred with Bhumi Pednekar. The show, directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, is about a royal family facing money problems in today’s world. It also features Nora Fatehi, Zeenat Aman, Vihaan Samat, and Sakshi Tanwar. The show got mixed reviews.
He also made headlines when his film Homebound, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa, was shown at the Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and backed by Karan Johar, the film received a 9-minute standing ovation.
