John Abraham On Russia-Ukraine: ‘No One Listened’

Actor John Abraham has openly shared that he is a big supporter of Russia amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. While promoting his new movie The Diplomat, which is currently showing in cinemas, John spoke to Aaj Tak about world politics and India’s stand on the war.

“I’m a huge fan of Russia, I say this on record,” John said.

He explained why he supports Russia, mentioning that NATO’s expansion led to the war. “Russia kept warning NATO for 30 years not to expand, but no one listened. Finally, they acted,” he added. However, John also said he doesn’t support war or loss of life on either side.

John praised India’s neutral position on the conflict and said no one can tell India whether to buy oil from Russia or not. He also called External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar the “poster boy of Indian diplomacy.”

Meanwhile, discussions between the US and Russian officials are ongoing, but Russia has yet to agree to a ceasefire. The war continues, with heavy attacks from both sides.

John on Minorities Feeling Unsafe in India

In another interview with Times Now, John responded to concerns about minorities feeling unsafe in India. He strongly disagreed and said he feels very safe in the country.

“My mother is a Zoroastrian, my father is a Syrian Christian, and I have never felt safer than in my country,” he said.

About His Movie ‘The Diplomat’

John is back on screen with The Diplomat, an action-thriller based on a true story. Directed by Shivam Nair, who earlier directed Naam Shabana, the film stars Sadia Khateeb alongside John.

The movie tells the story of Uzma Ahmad, an Indian woman who was rescued from Pakistan in 2017 after being forced into marriage and facing abuse.
