Filmmaker Karan Johar revealed why some people love him and some hate him. Speaking on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, he credited his talk show Koffee With Karan for shaping people’s perception of him.
Karan explained that on the show, he portrayed a certain personality — candid, witty, sometimes catty — as part of the role. But many viewers believed this was his real personality and judged him based on it. “No matter what kind of human being you are, people will always believe you are that person because you played that part,” he said.
He also shared his positive view on trolling and criticism. Earlier this year, Karan told Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story that being trolled shows he matters. “Love and hate are both forms of appreciation. If no one talks about you, that’s the worst. So negativity means I am relevant,” he said.
Karan’s honesty highlights how fame can shape public perception and why online criticism often follows public figures.
