Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s courtroom drama Haq is winning hearts after its release on Netflix. The film has found new admirers online, and Alia Bhatt, filmmaker Karan Johar, has now joined the list of those praising it.
On Sunday, Karan Johar shared a glowing review of Haq on Instagram. Posting the film’s poster, he said the story deeply moved him and left him emotional. He also admitted that he regretted not watching the film in theatres when it first was released.
Karan wrote that the film brought him to tears and left him speechless by the end. He praised the powerful storytelling and called Haq an empowering film that deserved a big-screen experience.
Showering praise on Yami Gautam, Karan said her performance was exceptional and path-breaking. He highlighted her expressions, silence, and final courtroom monologue, calling it a masterclass in acting. He ended his note by saying he is now a “fan for life.”
Karan also praised Emraan Hashmi, calling Haq for his finest performance so far. He appreciated director Suparn Verma for handling the sensitive subject with restraint and emotion, and applauded Junglee Pictures for backing such a brave and important story.
Touched by Karan’s words, Yami Gautam thanked him in the comments, saying his message left her emotional and grateful. This praise comes a day after Alia Bhatt also applauded Yami’s performance, revealing that she personally called the actor to congratulate her.
