Priya Sachdev Changes Name Amid Feud

Priya Sachdev Kapur, wife of late businessman Sunjay Kapur, has changed her Instagram name to Priya Sunjay Kapur. This update comes as she joins the board of Sona Comstar, an auto parts company once chaired by her husband.

Her Instagram bio now reads: “Mother. Entrepreneur. Investor. Non-Executive Director, Sona Comstar. Director, Aureus Investment. Carrying forward the vision of @sunjaykapur.”

This change happened during a major family dispute over a ₹30,000 crore inheritance. After Sunjay’s death in June, his mother Rani Kapur claimed she is the only legal heir to the family’s business, based on a 2015 will by her late husband Surinder Kapur.

Rani also said she was forced to sign papers after Sunjay’s death and tried to stop the company’s Annual General Meeting. However, the company stated that she has not been a shareholder since 2019 and went ahead with the meeting, officially appointing Priya as a non-executive director.

Sunjay Kapur, who was once married to actor Karisma Kapoor, passed away on June 12 during a polo match in England, reportedly due to a heart attack. Rani Kapur has raised concerns over the “suspicious” nature of his death.

So far, Priya has not made any public comments about the dispute or her husband’s death.
