Ranbir Kapoor Explains The Meaning Of ARKS Brand Name

Ranbir Kapoor recently spoke about the name of his lifestyle brand ARKS, putting an end to all the rumours around it. Since the launch of the brand, many fans believed that the name ARKS was linked to his wife Alia Bhatt and daughter Raha Kapoor. However, Ranbir has now clarified that this is not true.

In a video shared on ARKS’ official Instagram and YouTube pages, Ranbir is seen giving a tour of the brand’s factory and answering questions. During the video, he revealed that the factory earlier belonged to his brother-in-law Bharat Sahni.

Talking about the brand name, Ranbir said that ARKS doesn’t have one fixed meaning. He explained that the idea first started with sneakers and was thought of as a “Ranbir Kapoor shoe” or even a “Ranbir Kapoor studio.” Over time, he felt the name didn’t need a clear meaning—it just felt right. According to him, when they heard the name and saw the logo, everything naturally came together.

Ranbir also shared how his mindset has changed with age. He said that as he grows older, he feels less attached to material things. He prefers simple and timeless clothing like t-shirts and denim jackets that can be worn anytime. That idea reflects in ARKS.

He added that ARKS is not just about clothing. In the future, the brand may expand into areas like athleisure, underwear, and even furniture. The aim is to create a lifestyle brand that represents a certain sensibility, aesthetic, and way of living.

ARKS was launched last year, with Ranbir stepping into entrepreneurship. The brand’s first video featured him lying on the grass at night, looking at the stars.

The ARKS men’s collection includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, polo shirts, and linen shirts made with comfort and style in mind.
