Salman Khan Called Terrorist In Pakistan? Govt Clarifies

Recently, reports claimed that Salman Khan was declared a terrorist in Pakistan after his comment mentioning Balochistan as a separate place. However, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has now cleared the air and called the news fake and unverified.

On Sunday, the ministry’s official fact-checking team posted on X (formerly Twitter), rejecting the rumors. The post included a screenshot of a headline saying “Pakistan puts Salman Khan on terror watchlist after Balochistan remark,” stamped with ‘Fake news / unverified’.

The ministry clarified that there is no official statement or document showing Salman Khan’s name on Pakistan’s terror watchlist or the Fourth Schedule under the Anti-Terrorism Act. They said the reports came only from Indian media without any official Pakistani source.

The ministry added, “There’s no evidence or formal announcement — the claim is false and seems to be a sensational headline without proof.”

What Salman Khan Said

During the Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Salman Khan spoke about how Indian films are popular in the Middle East. He said, “There are people from Balochistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan working here.” Some people misinterpreted this as referring to Balochistan as separate from Pakistan, which sparked controversy online.

In reality, Balochistan is a province in southwestern Pakistan that has long demanded more autonomy. But the Pakistan government has confirmed that Salman Khan has not been declared a terrorist and the claims are completely false.
