Shoojit Sircar On I Want To Talk Failure: ‘It Disturbs You’

Shoojit Sircar’s film I Want To Talk, starring Abhishek Bachchan, received a positive response from both critics and audiences. However, despite the appreciation, the film failed at the box office.

Shoojit Sircar on the Box Office Performance

In an interview with NDTV, Shoojit Sircar shared that he was disturbed by the film’s poor box office collection. He said, “I want to make films on my terms and with my vision. But sometimes, it disturbs you. I was completely disoriented because I didn’t know why audiences didn’t go to the theatre. However, the film is now on OTT, and many people are reacting to it. It’s difficult to explain, but yes, box office results do affect you.”

Is I Want To Talk a Niche Film?

Sircar also spoke about whether his film falls into the “niche” category. He explained, “The film is based in the US, and many languages are spoken in it. The title is in English. Many film lovers watch international content, so I never thought this was a niche film.” He also mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan appreciated the film and was happy with how it turned out.
