SRK & Priyanka Were First Choice For 2 States?

The 2014 film 2 States starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt won hearts with its fresh pairing and chemistry. Alia played Ananya, a Tamil girl, and Arjun played Krish, a Punjabi boy, who fall in love while studying at IIM Ahmedabad.

But author Chetan Bhagat recently revealed that the movie was first planned with a completely different cast. He shared that earlier names like Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Priyanka Chopra were discussed for the film. Director Vishal Bhardwaj was also once attached to the project.

Chetan Bhagat admitted he was unsure at first when a new director and new actors — Arjun and Alia — were chosen. Both had only one film each at that time. But later, he felt it was the perfect choice, saying their young energy made the film feel fresh and relatable.

Now, Alia Bhatt will be seen in Alpha and Love & War. Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
