Actor-turned-director Tisca Chopra has shared that making her first film, Saali Mohabbat, was so stressful that it almost affected her marriage. The film stars Radhika Apte and Divyendu Sharma and recently released on ZEE5.
In an interview with Mid-Day India, Tisca spoke honestly about how difficult directing a film can be. She said directing is extremely demanding and requires constant decision-making, even on small things. According to her, if a director doesn’t give clear answers, people start doubting their confidence.
Tisca also revealed that she co-wrote the film with her husband Sanjay Chopra, a former Air India pilot. While working together, their creative differences became intense and nearly led to a divorce.
She explained that her husband’s writing style is strong and bold, while hers is more subtle. Though the differences were tough on their relationship, she believes this contrast helped make the script better in the end. Tisca also shared her views on censorship, saying adults should have the freedom to choose what they want to watch.
Saali Mohabbat is described as a “how-dunnit” crime thriller. It stars Radhika Apte and Divyendu Sharma and is produced by Jio Studios and Manish Malhotra’s Stage5 Production. The film premiered on ZEE5 earlier this month.
