Screenwriter and director Varun Grover is happy that Air India is now focusing more on passenger safety. After the tragic Ahmedabad crash that killed 241 people, Varun noticed some positive changes in the airline’s attitude.
Recently, an Air India flight from Delhi to Paris was canceled due to problems found during pre-flight checks. Reacting to the news on social media, Varun wrote, “Looks like earlier they were flying with a ‘chalta hai’ (careless) attitude, but now they’re not taking risks anymore.”
He also hopes that the airline will improve its basic safety and maintenance, even if that means canceling flights for a while. He believes it’s a financial risk worth taking to save lives.
After the Ahmedabad crash on June 12, many Air India flights have been canceled or diverted. That flight, a London-bound Boeing 787, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all onboard.
Air India responded by saying that the Delhi to Paris flight was canceled because of an issue found during checks. They also offered hotel stays, full refunds, or free rescheduling for the passengers.
