Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation case against Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix. He claims that the series The Ba**ds of Bollywood* shows false and harmful information about him. He is seeking ₹2 crore in damages from Shah Rukh Khan.
After the series premiered, Wankhede’s wife, actress Kranti Redkar, shared a video of her husband talking about drug problems among youth. She wrote:
“Drug problem is deep, it’s not something to be made fun of or laughed at. Hope people realise the seriousness of this problem before it’s too late.”
Kranti also praised her husband for his social work:
“Keep up the good work @swankhede.irs, your contribution to society is amazing. Instead of spending weekends on vacations, you conduct anti-drug programs and educate the youth. We all stand by you and your movement.”
Fans are now wondering if her post was a subtle dig at Aryan Khan’s Netflix show. In the series, a scene shows an officer noticing someone smoking at a party but letting it go because they are not from Bollywood, while another person is apprehended just for being part of Bollywood.
