Punjab is facing one of its worst floods in decades. Heavy rains and overflowing rivers have claimed at least 29 lives and displaced over 2.56 lakh people across 12 districts. Many villages remain submerged, leaving families homeless.
Several actors and singers are stepping in to help. Ammy Virk announced he and his team will support 200 families affected by the floods. “We want to give hope, dignity, and strength to those who have lost everything,” he said.
Diljit Dosanjh has adopted 10 flood-hit villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar with the help of NGOs and local authorities. Immediate relief is the priority, and rebuilding will follow once the water recedes.
Singer Gippy Grewal sent truckloads of silage to feed cattle in Ajnala. Karan Aujla is providing medicines, boats, food, and fodder. Sonam Bajwa is donating to organisations working on the ground and postponed the release of her film Nikka Zaildar 4 due to the floods.
These celebrities are encouraging fans to join hands and support Punjab during this crisis.
