Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak didn’t get any relief from the Delhi High Court in a ₹4.3 crore fraud case linked to Drishyam 2. The case is about a deal for Chinese distribution rights, which a businessman claims was based on fake documents.
A Delhi businessman said he was promised exclusive rights to release Drishyam 2 in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He paid ₹4.3 crore through Bharat Sevak, who claimed to be an authorised rep of Panorama Studios. But the studio denied receiving any money and said Sevak had no valid rights.
Kumar Mangat asked the court to cancel the FIR, saying it was a business issue. But the court refused, stating the case is still being investigated.
Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Kumar Mangat’s son Abhishek Pathak, was a superhit at the box office.
