Divya Dutta is on fire! After winning hearts as Soyarabai in the blockbuster Chhaava, she’s now making her Telugu debut with Mayasabha, a political web series on SonyLIV directed by Deva Katta.
Set in the 1970s–80s, the show revolves around two rival politicians. Divya plays Iravati Basu — a bold, fearless woman who stands strong in a male-dominated world. “This role is perfect to begin my Telugu journey,” Divya shares.
She was instantly drawn to the story and the powerful character. “Every look, every move of Iravati has meaning. It was a treat to play her,” she adds.
Divya also had a great time with her co-stars. She clicked instantly with Aadhi Pinisetty, bonded later with Chaitanya Rao, and was thrilled to share screen space with Nassar. A big fan of South films, Divya says she grew up cheering for Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
She’s now working on a Hindi film with Rana Daggubati, and has more exciting roles lined up with Manoj Bajpayee and Jimmy Sheirgill.
“I’ve worked hard for years. Now I’m enjoying the sweet success,” Divya says with a smile.
