Actor Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer has made it clear that she is not fighting for her own share in the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s property. The legal battle is only to secure the rightful inheritance of her children, Kiaan and Samaira.
Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma, said that Priya Sachdev’s claim of the children already getting ₹1900 crore is misleading. He explained that Sunjay’s estate is worth ₹30,000 crore, and the children deserve their fair share as legal heirs. “These are Sunjay Kapur’s assets, not a favor. Karisma wants nothing for herself, only what her children rightfully deserve,” he said.
Karisma’s lawyer also questioned why Priya has not disclosed the late industrialist’s will if it exists. He stated that the trust deed and assets abroad also need to be considered.
Alongside Karisma’s children, Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also filed a case against Priya. The Delhi High Court has asked Priya to reveal all assets of her late husband. The case will be heard again on October 9.
