The Indian women’s cricket team created history by winning their first-ever ODI World Cup after a thrilling final against South Africa in Navi Mumbai. Former cricketer and actor Saiyami Kher shared a very emotional message after the win, calling it a dream come true for every girl who loves cricket.
Saiyami once played cricket for Maharashtra as a fast bowler before becoming an actor. She wrote about how her love for cricket started when she was eight, watching matches with her dad. She remembered how boys laughed when she said she wanted to play cricket — until she bowled them out. Later in life, even when she talked about cricket in rooms full of men, she still faced doubts.
Seeing a packed stadium cheering for women cricketers made her emotional. She said this win is not just for the team, but for every girl who had big dreams. Saiyami also shared that watching the victory at DY Patil Stadium — the same place where she shot her cricket film Ghoomer — felt like life had come full circle.
She thanked the families, the BCCI, and everyone who supported women’s cricket, and said this victory will inspire every young girl who believes she can play someday.
This win is not only about cricket — it is about breaking doubts, chasing dreams, and showing the world that girls can do anything.
