The upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, is facing major backlash. Many people are upset about Pakistani actress Hania Aamir being cast in the film and are calling for a ban. In response, the filmmakers have shared a statement defending their decision.
The producers said the movie was shot long ago, before the recent tensions between India and Pakistan. They also made it clear that Hania Aamir was not signed after the Pahalgam terror attack. That’s why they’ve decided not to release the film or any of its promotions in India for now.
“We want to inform everyone that Sardaar Ji 3 was completed before the current situation. No Pakistani artist was signed after the recent tragic event,” the makers said in their statement.
“We stand with our country and people. That’s why we will not release the film in India until the situation gets better,” they added.
The statement got mixed reactions. Some people supported the decision not to release the film in India, while others said the team should have removed Hania’s scenes from the film.
Sardaar Ji 3 stars Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, and Hania Aamir. It will not release in India, but is expected to release overseas on June 27.
