Rang De Basanti, starring Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Siddharth, Sharman Joshi, and others, is still remembered as one of the most powerful films in Indian cinema. Released in 2006, the movie became a cultural milestone, but at the time of its release, its success was far from certain.
In a recent interview, Soha Ali Khan shared that the producers were doubtful about the film’s future. They even asked the actors to return part of their payment, fearing the film might not do well. Surprisingly, the entire cast agreed to give money back.
“None of us thought it would become so big or touch people the way it did. During promotions, the producers called and said, ‘Please return some money.’ We all agreed. But the film went on to become a movement and was a turning point in my career,” Soha revealed.
She also recalled the shooting days, where the cast spent months traveling to Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Mumbai. The crew became very close during filming, but over the years, everyone drifted apart with time.
Recently, Soha was seen in Chhorii 2, a horror thriller streaming on Amazon Prime Video, alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha and others. The film marked her comeback after years and reminded fans of her versatile acting.
