The director of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Shashank Khaitan, said that Alia Bhatt was never offered the film. He also clarified that the movie was not meant to be part of the Dulhania series.

Shashank explained that he knew Alia was busy with other projects for 2-3 years, so she couldn’t do this film. He added that he, Varun Dhawan, and Karan Johar had talked to Alia about other Dulhania ideas, but this movie was always written differently.
