One more series has been released today on Lord Sri Ram’s life “Ramyug” on MX Player. It’s a OTT debut of film maker Kunal Kohli. This is not first time when someone is making content on Ramayana, In the eighties, many people, from Ramanand Sagar to Ekta Kapoor, have brought the Ramayana to the small screen from their own perspective.
The Honest Review:-
We must say Poor representation of current popular political sentiments with religious narrative. Filmmaker Kunal Kohli has brought the story of Ramayan in the spirit of modernity to the current new generation, with the web series “Ramyug”, which is released today 6th may on OTT Platform MX Player. The series has a huge drawback, which is its editing. Every episode is just too lengthy and time is spent on building moments. They could have incorporated some of the small anecdotes of the Ramayan instead. Also, it is preachy in places. Diganth Manchale as Lord Rama gives a lesson on devotion, duty, how time is a constant and what not.
