‘Azaad’ marks the debut of Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan, set in pre-Independence India. Govind (Aaman) falls for Janaki (Rasha), daughter of a landlord, while being fascinated by a dacoit’s horse, Azaad. The story drags with a slow pace, predictable plot, and clichés.
While Azaad the horse steals the show with some beautiful sequences, the film feels self-indulgent. Rasha and Aaman show potential but still need acting experience. The music, despite Amit Trivedi’s involvement, fails to impress, with only “Uui Amma” standing out.
In the end, Azaad doesn’t offer anything new, except for two debut actors.
