Cook Review: New Movie is Wickedly Fun

Wicked Part 1 instantly feels like a classic, blending Harry Potter and The Wizard of Oz with a modern twist. The film opens with the fall of the Wicked Witch of the West, followed by Glinda (Ariana Grande) sharing the good news. We then meet Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a smart but misunderstood green-skinned girl who becomes friends with the bubbly Galinda.

The film is a visual and musical delight, with stunning costumes, jaw-dropping sets, and unforgettable songs like “Popular”. Directed by Jon M. Chu, this enchanting movie is a hit for both musical lovers and families, leaving audiences eagerly awaiting Part 2 in 2025.
