The much-awaited historical drama Chhava, starring Vicky Kaushal, has been postponed to February 14, 2025. Initially set to release in December 2024, the film’s new date coincides with the week of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, making it even more special.
This move helps Chhava avoid a box office clash with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is releasing in December 2024. With immense hype surrounding Pushpa 2, the makers of Chhava chose a safer release window.
Chhava is a biographical drama about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, and Rashmika Mandanna in a prominent role.
By shifting the release, Rashmika Mandanna avoids having her two big films, Pushpa 2 and Chhava, clashing at the box office, ensuring a smoother run for both projects.
