Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is doing well at the box office, even after a small dip in collections following Diwali.
The film opened with ₹9 crore net on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it earned ₹7.75 crore, a drop of just 14%. On Thursday, it added ₹6 crore, taking its total domestic collection to ₹22.75 crore after three days. The Thursday drop was around 22%, showing the film is holding strong.
In comparison, Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, saw a bigger drop of 33% on the same day. Even though Thamma had a wider release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is performing better on weekdays, with a total drop of 33% compared to Thamma’s 50%.
The film now looks forward to the weekend, hoping to boost collections. If it crosses ₹50 crore net by Sunday, it will be a big win, considering the film was made on a modest ₹25 crore budget.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, the movie stars Harshvardhan Rane, Sonam Bajwa, Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. While reviews have been mixed, audiences, especially in smaller cities, have liked it.
