This Dussehra, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is the only Hindi film releasing in theatres. The romantic comedy stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf. However, it faces competition from the Kannada film Kantara Chapter 1, which is releasing its Hindi dub on the same day.
The original Kantara was a huge hit in the Hindi belt, earning ₹84 crore in 2022. The prequel has generated great buzz and is showing strong ticket sales. By Monday noon, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari sold around 9,000 tickets in advance, collecting ₹29.32 lakh. Meanwhile, Kantara Chapter 1 Hindi dub already sold over 11,000 tickets, collecting ₹33 lakh, outperforming the Bollywood rom-com even before release.
With only a few screens open for Kantara so far, experts believe the Hindi dub will gain momentum and likely beat Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari at the box office.
