Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra’s latest romcom Param Sundari is slowing down at the box office. The film saw a big midweek dip of almost 40% in its earnings on Wednesday, showing that the buzz is fading.
On Wednesday, Param Sundari collected ₹2.85 crore net in India and around ₹4.50 crore gross worldwide. This is much lower compared to over ₹7 crore earned the previous day. So far, the film has made ₹37.10 crore net (₹44.50 crore gross) in India, and just crossed ₹15 crore overseas. Its total worldwide collection after six days stands at ₹59.50 crore.
Among 2025’s romantic films, Param Sundari is struggling. YRF’s Saiyaara earned over ₹550 crore worldwide, while Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf did ₹89 crore. Even Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, which underperformed, managed ₹62.25 crore — slightly ahead of Param Sundari.
Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Param Sundari is a cross-cultural love story. However, it has faced criticism for showing Kerala and Malayali culture in a stereotypical way. Reviews have been mixed, with many calling out its weak writing. Along with Janhvi and Sidharth, the cast also includes Sanjay Kapoor, Renji Panicker, Siddhartha Shankar, Manjot Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee.
The film started with some buzz but is now losing pace quickly. With strong competition around, it may struggle to cross bigger milestones at the box office.
