Sitaare Zameen Par Beats Kesari 2, Yet To Hit ₹100 Cr

Aamir Khan’s latest film Sitaare Zameen Par is doing well in theatres. The film was released only in cinemas and not on any OTT platform. This different release strategy seems to have worked. After one week, the movie has earned ₹94.95 crore in India.

On Day 8 (Friday), the film made around ₹6.05 crore, according to early reports. It had a strong first week with ₹88.9 crore. By the end of the second weekend, the film is likely to cross the ₹100 crore mark.

Sitaare Zameen Par has now earned more than Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2, which made ₹92.53 crore in total in India.

About the Film

The movie is a remake of the Spanish film Campeones. Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach who trains a team of players with special needs. The film also stars Genelia D’Souza and introduces 10 new actors.

Director’s Words

The film’s director, RS Prasanna, shared that Aamir Khan is very humble and down-to-earth. He said that Aamir behaves like a newcomer, despite being a superstar.
