This Dussehra, all eyes are on Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, the only Hindi film releasing for the festive weekend. Starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, this madcap romantic comedy from Dharma Productions has already made a splash at the ticket window, crossing ₹1 crore in advance bookings. With day 1 expected to reach around ₹10+ crore, the film is set to outshine Janhvi’s last release Param Sundari (₹7.25 crore) and may even beat Varun’s Baby John (₹11.25 crore).
Advance bookings have been steady, with over 40,000 tickets sold across India by Wednesday noon. Romantic comedies usually grow through positive word of mouth, and the makers are hopeful that the film’s humor, romance, and festive vibe will attract audiences throughout the weekend.
Although the Kannada hit Kantara Chapter 1 is also releasing in Hindi, Varun Dhawan remains confident. He says both films can do well since they are very different and the festive holiday is a perfect time for movies.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the movie promises fun, romance, and laughter for the whole family this Dussehra.
