Director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar recently spoke about the emotional moment when his film Ground Zero released just days after a terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The director said he was deeply shocked after hearing about the incident, especially because his team had screened the film in Srinagar just three days earlier. “Mujhe dhakka laga,” he shared.
When asked if the tragedy affected the film’s performance, Tejas said, “We were so disturbed, we didn’t even think about the film. If I start thinking how this helps or hurts the film, I’ll lose my humanity.”
The film stars Emraan Hashmi and tells the real-life story of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who led the 2003 mission to hunt down Ghazi Baba, the terrorist behind the 2001 Parliament attack.
Despite the strong subject, Ground Zero got mixed reviews and opened with only ₹1 crore at the box office. But Tejas remains positive. “
Some felt the release timing was unlucky, as it clashed with Kesari 2, Raid 2, and the re-release of Andaz Apna Apna. But Tejas disagrees. “
