Tere Ishk Mein Vs Animal: Aanand L Rai Breaks The Silence

Director Aanand L Rai has reacted to the comparisons between his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Many people online feel both films show aggressive, angry male characters.

Aanand L Rai agreed that there may be some similarities in the characters’ rage, but he made it clear that Tere Ishk Mein is not the same kind of film. He said these traits are “ingredients” but not the full story.

After the trailer released, viewers compared Dhanush’s role to characters from Animal and Kabir Singh, calling it another “alpha male” performance. One scene, where Dhanush storms into a wedding, added to the buzz.

Rai responded by saying the character is not based on clichés. He explained that he doesn’t write stories thinking of “alpha” behavior. For him, the character is emotional, sensitive, and acts from his feelings.

The film is a romantic drama that brings Dhanush and Aanand L Rai together again after Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re. Kriti Sanon also stars in the movie.
The story follows a young, angry man who falls deeply in love with Mukti. Their love grows during college days, but she later chooses to marry someone else. Heartbroken and furious, he becomes violent and vows revenge. Amid all this chaos, he becomes a pilot, while she struggles with her own issues.

Tere Ishk Mein releases in theatres on November 28.
This film marks the first collaboration between Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.
