The latest episode of The White Lotus season 3 shocked fans with an unexpected twist. In episode 5, brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) share a kiss during a party while trying to impress two women. The women first kiss each other and then challenge the brothers to do the same. Lochlan surprises everyone by kissing Saxon.
Fans were confused and upset as there were no signs of such a twist before. Many called it unnecessary and accused the show of adding shock value. One viewer tweeted, “Where did that kiss come from?” while another wrote, “That was bizarre.”
However, the makers of The White Lotus defended the scene. Executive producer David Bernard explained that creator Mike White had a deeper reason for including it. Bernard said, “It’s not just for shock. There’s a bigger story behind it, and viewers will understand as the season ends.” He added that this family storyline, especially the bond between the brothers, will make more sense later.
The White Lotus season 3 is set in Thailand and stars Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, and others.
