Netflix has officially announced the release date of Kohrra Season 2, streamed globally on February 11, 2026. The announcement has sparked excitement among fans of the critically acclaimed first season, which debuted in 2023 and quickly earned a reputation for its raw portrayal of crime and moral ambiguity.
Once again a Netflix original series, the second season is continuing its association with high-quality Indian crime dramas that prioritise realism over spectacle. With its release strategically placed early in the year, Kohrra 2 is expected to be one of Netflix India’s most talked-about originals of 2026.

First premiered in 2023, Kohrra stood out of the crowded crime-thriller landscape for its subdued tone, restrained performances, and psychological depth. Portraying the unspoken tensions of Punjab, the series explores the emotional toll of policing, the personal trauma carried by law enforcement officers, and the quiet. Crime in Kohrra was pictured as deeply human, shaped as much by fractured relationships and buried truths as by motive itself.

The return of Barun Sobti as Amarpal Garundi stands out as one of the season’s biggest highlights. His portrayal of the sharp, emotionally scarred cop once again reinforces why the character remains one of the most compelling and memorable figures in Indian OTT storytelling.
In Season 1, Garundi operated under Balbir Singh (played by Suvinder Vicky), carrying the professional pressure alongside personal demons. The character was highly appreciated for being flawed yet profoundly human.
Season 2 places Garundi within a new professional hierarchy, a shift that promises to add deeper complexity and fresh dimensions to his evolving character arc.

While Randeep Jha directed Season 1, Kohrra Season 2 is created by Sudip Sharma along with Faisal Rahman.
Sudip Sharma, who also serves as creator and writer, has been closely associated with some of India’s most acclaimed realistic dramas. His dual role as creator-director ensures creative continuity, even as the series explores new narrative territory.
Speaking about returning to the world of Kohrra, Sudip Sharma shared:
“Season 1 allowed us to explore quieter tensions between people, between past and present. This season as well, we have tried to bring forth as authentic a portrayal of Punjab as possible, with the characters rooted in a universal reality we have seen play out across the country.”
This statement reinforces the show’s commitment to authenticity over dramatization.
