Kajol’s first-ever horror film, Maa, is finally coming to OTT! Directed by Vishal Furia, this mythological horror thriller will release on Netflix on August 22.
The film tells the story of Ambika (played by Kajol) and her daughter, who travel to her husband’s village after his mysterious death. There, they uncover a terrifying curse that puts their lives in danger.
While Maa received mixed reviews for its horror elements, Kajol’s powerful performance was praised. The film earned over ₹36 crore at the Indian box office.
Backed by Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Ronit Roy, and Kherin Sharma in key roles.
Kajol herself said that although she wasn’t scared while shooting, others around her were shocked to see her in such a chilling role.
